Framed Kererū Print
Kererū are one of the most important and hardworking forest regenerators, dispersing a huge range of native seeds across the motu. Some of our larger forest fruit, like tawa and karaka, rely on kererū for effective dispersal. As Kapiti was almost completely cleared for farming in the 1800s, kererū have a lot of work to do on the motu, and seem to embrace their role with enthusiasm.
This photo was taken in Waiorua Valley, and shows off the kererū’s impressive vacuum skills, inhaling tree lucerne leaves like they’re going out of fashion.
Your image will be printed on gallery-quality Enhanced Matte paper using 12 colour archival pigment inks on the latest Epson printers, framed in a sustainably sourced, solid wood frame handmade in New Zealand.
